It rarely gets infested by pests or attacked by diseases. The attractive lilies are photophilic. They grow best on a spot where their flowers remain in the sunlight and the bulb in shade. That is why we recommend planting them with covering plants or to mulch the ground around them. Loose, aerated, permeable soils that are rich in nutrients suit them best. Plant lily bulbs in spring or autumn twelve to fifteen centimetres deep and thirty centimetres apart. Taking care of lilies is limited to regular fertilizing, watering and topping of wilted flowers. You do not have to excavate lily bulbs after the flowering period. These plants can successfully grow at the same spot for several years.
